Airport Pulkovo St. Petersburg is Russia's third busiest airport after the Moscow airports, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo, and is located 23 kilometers from the central square of the St. Petersburg.
 
The new airport terminal is able to accommodate 18,000,000 passengers a year thanks to international and domestic long and medium-haul flights.
Since 2009, the airport is operated by NCG (Northern Capital Gateway) on the basis of the public-private partnership agreement between three parts: the city of St. Petersburg, Pulkovo Airport Company (100% owned by the city) and NCG. This public-private partnership is the first in the Russian airport sector.
The companies that participate in "Northern Capital Gateway" are Russian VTB Capital, a member of the VTB Group owned by the State, the German Fraport AG, which manages the Frankfurt airport and many other international airports and Horizon Air Investments SA member of the Greek Copelouzos Group.

Transport to/from the airport
Bus
City buses number 39, 39Express and Minivan Taxi number K39 travel between the airport and Moskovskaya metro station, the closest to the city of St. Petersburg.
39Express bus time: about 20 minutes. Bus number 39 time: 35 minutes. Bus stops at the airport: at Arrivals.

Taxi
Taxis from Pulkovo Airport to St. Petersburg and vice versa are available. The Taxi Pulkovo counters are located in the arrivals hall on the first floor of the terminal.

Car
The new terminal is easily reachable by car. From the Pulkovskoye Shosse highway, take the marked airport exits. Journey time from 30 to 60 minutes for 23 Km.
