Girona Costa Brava Airport, GRO

Girona-Costa Brava Airport is approximately 10 km from the city of Girona and 85 km from Barcelona, serving therefore the entire Costa Brava-Pyrenees. Today it is one of the airports with the highest rate of growth of the last few years and one of the main airports for low-cost airlines.

Since 2008 Aena Aeropuertos, the airport’s management company, has made a series of extensions to the terminal, enlarging the check-in hall, making a new public access to the boarding area, transferring and increasing the passenger security points and adding new boarding gates.

Additionally, recent initiatives include the expansion of the check-in hall and passenger security checkpoints, the creation of a new public access point for the boarding area, as well as an increased number of boarding gates with l installation and adaptation of structures in the arrivals area.

In addition to all the services for passengers, the airport offers cafes, restaurants and a duty free for shopping while waiting for the flight.

Transportation to/from Barcelona airport

Bus

Buses (Sagalès and Sarfa) connect the city of Girona to the airport. Buses also leave from the centre of Barcelona and from Costa Brava North and South for the airport. There are also bus connections from Lleida (Teisa and Eix Bus) and from Andorra (Frogbus and Novatel).

The Sagalès line connects Girona-Costa Brava airport with terminals 1 and 2 of Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas airport.

Car

From Girona the recommended roads for using to get to the airport are: E-15; Carrer Barcelona; GI-533 and GIV-5343.

Taxi
