UrbanV and Future Flight Global launch partnership for advanced air mobility
The agreement combines UrbanV's know-how in infrastructure and multimodal connectivity, with FFG's operational experience in the management of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and conventional (eCTOL) fleets. The shared goal is to accelerate the integration of new generation aircraft into urban and regional mobility systems.
A roadmap with Rome as a starting point
The project will start in the capital, UrbanV's home office, and then expand to Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Veneto), the French Riviera and key global markets such as North America, South America and the Middle East. In parallel, discussions are already underway with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, infrastructure interoperability and coordinated airspace management.
Key elements of the partnership
1. Operational tests and first joint flights in Rome
UrbanV and FFG will begin demonstration flights using existing infrastructure, including the experimental UV-0 vertiport. In parallel, an integrated business plan will be defined to support the transition from testing to large-scale commercial operations.
2. Infrastructure development and fleet management
UrbanV will lead the design and implementation of vertiports in strategic areas. FFG will be responsible for operating a mixed fleet of eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft optimized for urban and regional environments.
3. Global expansion and scalability
The agreement provides for the extension in markets with greater demand and infrastructure availability, with a focus on regulatory alignment. The first non-European implementations are planned in North America, South America and the Middle East.
Towards a fully integrated IAM ecosystem
The project lays the foundations for one of the first global ecosystems of scalable urban air mobility, with a focus on interoperability between different operators (multi-OEM), certified vertiport infrastructure, logistics services and passenger and cargo transport. Early use cases will include regional connections and coastal routes.
