New Swiss lounges at Zurich Airport

SWISS will open the new Business Lounges and Senator Lounges at Zurich Airport in the first quarter of 2027, moving the spaces currently located in Dock A to a new building on the south side of Dock B. The two lounges will occupy a total of around 2,600 square metres, an increase in space of around 20% compared to the current facilities.

The move is linked to the larger project to replace Dock A at Zurich Airport. The new modular building near Dock B is designed to temporarily house infrastructure that will be affected by future works, including lounges and bus gates. The airport is expected to start operations in early 2027.

Two separate floors for Business and Senator Lounge

The new SWISS Business Lounge and the SWISS Senator Lounge will each occupy an entire floor of the building. The rooms will be characterised by a more open layout, large glass surfaces and greater availability of natural light. For passengers, the spaces dedicated to rest and work will increase in particular, with more seating and around 20 fully soundproofed workstations distributed between the two lounges. The glazed façade will also offer direct views of the apron, the runways and the Alps, integrating airport activity into the interior design.

One of the distinctive elements of the new SWISS Senator Lounge will be the bar located directly along the window, with a 180-degree view of slope 34, the forecourt and the mountains.

The offer will also include a wine humidor and a space dedicated to the maturation of selected cheeses and cold cuts, elements with which the company intends to maintain a strong Swiss characterization of the lounge experience. For some Travellers, the distances to be traveled to boarding will also change. The new bus gates will in fact be located directly under the lounge building, allowing faster access to the gates in certain cases.

What will happen to the SWISS lounges in Dock A

With the opening of the new facilities, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, the current SWISS Business Lounges and Senator Lounges in Dock A, along with the SWISS Alpine Lounge, will close.

The move is part of the reorganization that is necessary for the gradual modernization of Zurich's main airport complex. The current Dock A, which has been operational since 1985 and is used by around a third of arriving and departing passengers, is set to be replaced by new infrastructure. According to the airport's planning, work on the new Dock A will start in 2030, while work on the new tower is planned for 2027.

The First Lounge is also expected to be relocated in 2028

The reorganization of the Swiss spaces will continue even after the opening of the new Business and Senator Lounges. In fact, the company plans to also move the SWISS First and HON Circle Lounge from Dock A to Dock B in 2028. Details regarding the new structure have not yet been communicated.

Zurich Airport (ZRH) currently has an articulated SWISS lounge system between Schengen, non-Schengen and Dock E areas. In 2025, according to the company's data, the SWISS lounges in Zurich and Geneva recorded an average of around 139,000 visitors per month, confirming the weight of these services in the experience of premium passengers and frequent flyers.
