Photo exhibition at Ancona airport
From 01 October to 30 November the area in front of the Departures pavilion hosts the exhibition "Antarctica: Shots from the End of the World" by Sergio Pitamitz
The photographic exhibition "Antarctica: Shots from the End of the World", created by photographer Sergio Pitamitz and dedicated to the South Pole, finds a new setting at the Ancona Raffaello Sanzio Airport, where it is on display from 1 October to 30 November. The exhibition, consisting of 28 extraordinary shots, can be seen in the areas in front of the Departures and Arrivals pavilions.
Ludovico Scortichini, President of Go World (a group of tour operators specializing in the creation of tailor-made trips on all continents), explains the reason for this particular choice: the airport, for Go World, is not only a place of transit, but represents a meeting point between cultures and a symbol of the travel experience. The exhibition, in fact, finds its ideal context here, offering travelers a window on distant and fascinating worlds such as Antarctica, evoking the airport's very mission: to be an open door to the world and a bridge to new destinations and horizons.

Alexander D'Orsogna, CEO of Ancona International Airport, underlines how this initiative fits perfectly into the goal of the Marche airport to consolidate itself as an international gateway, making the region increasingly accessible and connected globally.
Pitamitz's photographic journey to Antarctica takes us to one of the most remote places on the planet. With a career as a wildlife photographer and contributor to prestigious magazines such as National Geographic, Pitamitz stands out for his work on African wildlife and the polar regions. His photographs appear regularly in major international publications, including BBC Wildlife, The New York Times and Time Magazine.
As the Argentine explorer Hernan Pujato said, "Knowing Antarctica is like traveling through a world so foreign to the one we live in that it gives us the impression of having changed planets or set foot in the Ice Age of the prehistory of the world."
