Palermo Airport improves passenger experience with new work areas

At the "Falcone Borsellino" post-security workspaces, enhanced services and an investment plan that looks at quality, connectivity and growth

Falcone Borsellino International Airport continues its path of strengthening as a key infrastructure for mobility and economic development of the territory. The new multifunctional work areas, located in the departures area on the third level of the airport, beyond the security checks, near gate A18 and before the passport control area, have been operational since yesterday.

The two areas provide 20 individual workstations, two of which are accessible to people with disabilities, designed to offer passengers waiting for boarding comfort, functionality and connectivity. Each station is equipped with electrical and USB sockets, charging points for mobile devices, ergonomic seats, dedicated LED lighting and enhanced Wi-Fi connection, so as to allow you to work or organize the last activities before the flight in a suitable environment.

The opening of the work areas represents a further step in the evolution of the airport as a modern hub oriented towards the quality of the passenger experience, a path that in recent months has seen the strengthening of services and the growing attention to the well-being of those who transit through the airport.

The intervention is part of the broader strategy of GESAP, the airport management company, aimed at strengthening competitiveness through targeted investments in innovation, accessibility and service development. An approach that looks not only at operational efficiency, but also at the value generated for the territory.

The development plan of Palermo airport also provides for further openings in the coming months. After the activation of the new P4 car park adjacent to the airport, with 62 additional parking spaces, the delivery of the new cargo area of about 1,000 square meters, near the old airport, is expected in April. At the end of June, the Prima Vista Lounge (400 sqm, Aviapartner) and the Planeta Amore restaurant (380 sqm, Autogrill) are scheduled to open in the airside area, while the expansion of the P2 car park will add 232 new stalls, with completion by August.

Thanks to the interventions already carried out, Palermo airport has exceeded 9.2 million passengers and aims to approach 10 million in the coming year, consolidating its role as a strategic asset in the Mediterranean.
