New Milan-Seoul route for Asiana Airlines at Malpensa
Milan Malpensa's intercontinental offer is strengthened with the debut of Asiana Airlines' new direct Malpensa-Seoul flight, inaugurated yesterday evening at Terminal 1 of the Milan airport. The new route expands the airline's European network and adds three weekly frequencies between Milan and South Korea, helping to make connectivity between the two markets even more robust.
The inaugural ceremony took place at the gate in the presence of Aldo Schmid, Head of Aviation Business Development of SEA Aeroporti di Milano, Jong Man Park, Vice President of Asiana Airlines, and Choon Goo Kim, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Italy.
With this connection, the airline aims to expand travel possibilities between Europe, Korea and Southeast Asia, while maintaining comfort and safety for passengers. On the occasion of the inaugural flight, Asiana Airlines welcomed passengers with dedicated souvenirs, celebrating the launch of the new route with an initiative designed to make the first trip between Malpensa and Seoul Incheon special.
For those departing from Milan Malpensa MXP, the flight to Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN) operates three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Malpensa is scheduled at 22:00, arriving in Incheon at 16:30 the following day. In the opposite direction, the flight from Seoul departs at 13:40 and lands in Milan at 20:00 local time. A program designed to offer a stable direct connection between the Lombard capital and one of the main gateways to East Asia.
The route is served by Airbus A350, the flagship aircraft of the Asiana Airlines fleet, configured with a total of 311 seats: 28 in Business Class and 283 in Economy Class. A configuration that aims to guarantee high standards of comfort for both premium traffic and leisure passengers.
From a network point of view, Asiana Airlines' new entry into Milan strengthens Malpensa's positioning as an international gateway for long-haul. The three new frequencies also contribute to completing the offer of connections between Milan and Seoul, responding to a demand traditionally supported by corporate traffic and increasingly also by a growing tourist component in both directions.
For passengers, the new direct flight is a particularly attractive option not only to reach Seoul, but also to travel to South Korea and on to other destinations in the Asian area. At the same time, the connection makes Milan more accessible to Travellers arriving from Asia, enhancing the city's role as an economic, cultural and trade fair hub in Northern Italy.
