Masterplan of Taranto Grottaglie Airport
Approved by ENAC, it provides for interventions for infrastructure, cargo, aeronautical industry, hospitality, research, training and experimentation in the aerospace field
ENAC has recently technically approved the Masterplan of Taranto Grottaglie Airport to 2030, a strategic project presented by Aeroporti di Puglia to meet the growing needs of aeronautical operators. This ambitious development plan involves a total investment of 169 million euros and is divided into three phases, aimed at transforming the airport into a hub of innovation and technological growth.
The Masterplan includes targeted interventions on infrastructure, cargo logistics, the aeronautical industry, hospitality, research and training. Particular attention is paid to experimentation in the aeronautical field, with a focus on the Spaceport Area, destined to become the first spaceport in Italy. This innovative concept introduces the flexibility of infrastructure, designed to meet the needs of suborbital flights and future aerospace operators. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has already designated the airport as the official site for this revolutionary construction.
As stated by the President of Aeroporti di Puglia, Antonio Maria Vasile, the airport is increasingly establishing itself as a point of reference in the aerospace industry, opening up scenarios of growth and technological development that project Puglia into the future.
