Milan Bergamo first European airport in the IATA SeMS program

The airport adheres to the international initiative to strengthen the culture of safety in air transport, aligned with the most advanced international standards in the civil aviation sector

Milano Bergamo Airport (BGY) marks a significant milestone by becoming the first airport in Europe to officially join the SeMS (Security Management System) program promoted by IATA - International Air Transport Association.

An important recognition that confirms the strategic vision of the Lombard airport in the field of airport security: entry into the IATA SeMS program attests to the concrete commitment to promoting a culture of proactive, sustainable safety aligned with global civil aviation standards.

The SeMS Program has been developed to support airports, airlines and operators in strengthening their security management systems through a risk-based approach, oriented towards prevention and continuous improvement. The program allows you to analyze and enhance internal processes, also offering an official IATA SeMS certification that measures the degree of maturity of structures in the security field.

The accession of SACBO, the management company of Milan Bergamo Airport, represents a natural evolution of a path that has already been underway for years, made up of investments in cutting-edge technologies, specialized training, operational optimization and constant attention to the protection of passengers and airport operators. A commitment that further strengthens the airport's reputation as one of the most dynamic in Europe, not only in terms of traffic and development, but also for its ability to anticipate the challenges of the sector with advanced management models. Milano Bergamo Airport is thus positioned as an international reference model in integrated safety management, in line with the best practices of contemporary air transport
