Art and territory: a combination to tell the story of Sardinia
The transformation of this area of the airport, so far undervalued, represents an important step in the mission of promoting the territory through art. The intent is to use airport spaces as showcases to celebrate the most authentic expressions of local creativity. The decision to entrust the project to Giorgio Casu, an established artist with exhibitions in prestigious international events and galleries, fits perfectly into this vision. With his works, Casu creates a bridge between Sardinia and distant places, stimulating the idea of travel as a cultural and symbolic connection, starting right from Cagliari airport.

A work rooted in the Sardinian mural tradition
The Tree of Life has its roots in the Sardinian mural tradition, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility. The symbols and codes of the past are renewed under the watchful eye of artists such as Casu, capable of dialoguing with a heterogeneous and global audience. With works ranging from Times Square in New York to the historic Amsicora Stadium in Cagliari, Giorgio Casu represents a perfect synthesis between tradition and modernity, demonstrating that Sardinian art can speak to the world, without ever forgetting its origins.

The CEO of SOGAER, Fabio Mereu, expressed great satisfaction with the initiative, underlining how the mural Rombo di Tuono all'Amsicora, the Tree of Life of Casu, painted on a large portion of the façade of the airport, will become a characterizing and distinctive element of Cagliari Airport. A symbol not only for the airport but for the entire territory.
