First train/air assistance service for passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility
Turin becomes the first airport in Italy to offer an integrated assistance service for travellers with special needs
Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) and SAGAT, the management company of Turin airport, have signed an innovative agreement to offer an integrated assistance service to passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility, connecting the train to the plane. This makes Torino Airport the first Italian airport to implement this type of inclusive service.
The agreement, developed in collaboration with ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority), aims to ensure a smooth journey for all passengers. Thanks to this initiative, travelers will be able to take advantage of dedicated assistance when boarding and disembarking from the train and plane. Airport employees will welcome passengers at the interchange point, where RFI staff will assist them in continuing their journey by train, and vice versa. The service is available for all trains departing from or arriving at Turin Caselle Airport station.
To use the service, passengers must request assistance when booking their flight ticket or contact SAGAT at least 48 hours before the flight departure or arrival time. Requests to RFI must be submitted through Sala Blu channels with a minimum notice of 12 hours; in the event of a request after the deadline, RFI will do everything possible to guarantee the service in any case.
