Davide Bramante's exhibition at Rome Fiumicino Airport
On the occasion of the Jubilee Year, Rome Fiumicino Airport welcomes the internationally renowned artist Davide Bramante with "Aerea", an exhibition project that tells the story of Rome through a selection of iconic photographic works.
With his technique of multiple exposures on film, Bramante superimposes urban glimpses of lived, known and dreamed cities, returning a poetic and powerful vision of the capital, between travel and identity. A visual narrative between departures and returns, where Rome is a point of connection with the world and with oneself.
Davide Bramante's exhibition at Rome Fiumicino Airport is divided into two areas of the airport:
- at Terminal 1, a gallery of large formats created from 2004 to the present day offers a contemporary visual story of the Eternal City.
- at Terminal 3, seven suspended installations – similar to photographic curtains – invite the public to interact with the work, flanking Rome with another metropolis that symbolizes Bramante's work: New York.
Four other shots are placed in further spaces of the terminal, for a fluid itinerary that combines art, travel and urban memory.
"Fiumicino airport is a unique place that in recent years has become the protagonist of a visionary path: welcoming and enhancing the Italian artistic and cultural heritage - commented Davide Bramante - with this exhibition I wanted to propose an alternative approach to art. Just as an archaeologist digs to bring to light the signs of the past, I dig through the layers of the present to bring out the hidden beauty."
Presented in the presence of the councilors Federica Poggio and Raffaello Biselli of the Municipality of Fiumicino, the exhibition underlines the cultural vocation of the Roman airport. Aeroporti di Roma thus confirms its commitment to enhancing Italian artistic talent and transforming the wait at the airport into a high-profile emotional and cultural experience .
