The workshop is confirmed as a space for operational and strategic discussion, designed to consolidate already active relationships and accompany the development of the airport's network, in a context of constantly growing travel demand.

The BGY Business Workshop as an engine of relationships and growth

During the event, Avion Tourism had the opportunity to discuss the role of the BGY Business Workshop with Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, Marketing & Communications at Milan Bergamo Airport.

According to Giacomo Cattaneo, the BGY Business Workshop represents a central tool in the development strategy of Milan Bergamo Airport, because it allows the airport to play an active role in connecting supply and demand within the travel chain.

"It is a very important annual event for us, because it allows us to create a platform for dialogue in which the offer, built by the airlines and tour operators operating at our airport, meets the demand, which continues to pass largely through travel agencies", he explained.

During the discussion, Cattaneo highlighted how airlines and tour operators represent the subjects that concretely generate travel capacity and products, committing themselves to routes, frequencies and packages, while travel agencies still play a fundamental role in distribution.

"Despite the growth of online channels, agencies remain very important interlocutors, both for companies that continue to use them as partners for the organization of business trips, and for leisure Travellers looking for personalized solutions or pre-structured packages", he stressed.

In this context, the Business Workshop is configured as a space for direct and operational discussion.

"Creating an opportunity for free dialogue between airlines, tour operators and travel agencies is essential to make the offer more effective and to facilitate the meeting between products and the market," added Cattaneo, emphasizing the value of the event as a moment of concrete relationship and not just presentation.

The workshop is also a tool through which Milan Bergamo Airport shares the evolution of the airport with its interlocutors.

"It is the moment in which we tell about the infrastructural innovations, the investments in progress, the increases in capacity and the new opportunities we are putting in place. In recent years, these developments have been significant and will continue in the future", he said, underlining the link between network growth and infrastructure development.

In the dialogue with Avion Tourism Magazine, Cattaneo finally focused on the entry into the Jazeera Airways network and the opening of the connection with Kuwait City, read as a strategic step in the path of traffic diversification.

"This is a new company and a completely new destination for the airport, located in an area of great interest, characterized by a demand that is attentive to the quality of the service and a strong interest in Made in Italy", he noted.

According to Cattaneo, the connection with Kuwait makes it possible to expand the airport's catchment area and reduce overlap with other destinations already served in the Middle East.

"This type of development creates opportunities not only for the airport, but for the entire territory, intercepting both leisure and business flows and strengthening the overall attractiveness of the Bergamo system", he concluded.

Management's vision: growth and infrastructure

During the workshop, the top management of SACBO - Milan Bergamo Airport also spoke, offering an articulated vision of the airport's development.
