At Trapani airport the notes of Beethoven and Chopin

For the 2025 Music Festival, pianists Michele Lombardo and Giacomo Barraco will perform in the Landside area for a free concert open to all in the arrivals area

On Saturday 21 June, on the occasion of the 2025 Music Festival, the "Vincenzo Florio" airport of Trapani-Birgi will transform the landside area of arrivals into a sound lounge open to travelers and citizens. Thanks to the collaboration between Airgest, the airport management company, Assaeroporti and the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese, from 10:00 to 12:00 a piano concert will accompany the summer departures in a refined way.

The program, in line with the national theme "A world of trades", celebrates two young talents who have chosen music as a profession. The pianist from Trapani Michele Lombardo (Conservatory "Antonio Scontrino") will open, with the Ballade no. 3 op. 47 and the famous Sonata "Appassionata" op. 57. Afterwards, Giacomo Barraco (originally from Fermo and winner of several international competitions) will propose the Sonata no. 30 op. 109 and Beethoven's Ballade No. 1 op. 23 by Chopin. Access is free of charge, without the need for a plane ticket: just walk through the doors of the terminal.

The initiative consolidates the link between the "Florio" and the Luglio Musicale Trapanese, an opera house founded in 1948 by Maestro Giovanni De Santis, recognized as a "Theater of Tradition" since 2003 and always committed to bringing great music even outside the traditional stages. With this event, Trapani airport confirms its cultural vocation and gives passengers a prelude in notes to the holidays that begin right here, on the shores of the Mediterranean.
