Aeroporti di Roma celebrates World Passenger Day
Also this year Aeroporti di Roma, part of the Mundys Group, participates in World Passenger Day, an initiative promoted by Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, renewing its commitment to putting the traveler at the center of the airport experience.
An internationally recognized path of excellence: for the eighth consecutive year, Rome Fiumicino Airport has been awarded by ACI World as the best airport in Europe for the quality of services offered to passengers.
To celebrate the occasion, Aeroporti di Roma presents the installation "A portrait of anyone in Rome" at the Leonardo da Vinci, signed by the conceptual artist Daniele Sigalot, already author of the famous sculpture Master of Mistakes exhibited at Terminal 1. The work, a large map of Rome engraved on polished steel, becomes a mirror and scenography for a collective portrait of travellers in transit.
"Bringing this work to Rome Fiumicino airport means putting passengers exactly at the point where this mutual exchange can take shape," said Daniele Sigalot, author of the work. In front of the map of Rome engraved on polished steel, their faces are reflected and, at the same time, transformed. The result is not a traditional portrait, but an image altered by urban topography: a visual fragment in which features mingle with streets and buildings. For me, that's exactly when the opera really comes to life."
During the day, passengers can be photographed as they reflect themselves in the work, then receive a personalized digital processing in which their image blends with the topography of the eternal city. A symbolic experience that allows you to take a unique fragment of Rome with you, to be shared on social media, as a souvenir of the trip and the bond with the capital.
Launched in 2023 by the Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, also part of the Mundys Group, World Air Passenger Day now involves 28 international airports. The goal is to redefine the concept of reception at the airport, enhancing the passenger as the true protagonist of the journey, through cultural experiences and initiatives that transform transit into a moment to be lived and remembered.
