Wizz Air UK gets green light for flights to the USA

Wizz Air UK has received official clearances to operate flights between the UK and the US. The company specifies that there are no regular scheduled connections to the USA: the approval concerns only dedicated charter flights.

The result comes after months of regulatory preparation and operational planning and allows the airline to offer tailor-made flights for large events and group travel across the Atlantic.

Charters for football clubs and fans

With the new green light, Wizz Air UK will be able to arrange charter flights for European football clubs and fans heading to the United States for the World Cup, as well as partner with tour operators specialising in group travel.

Charter packages will be designed to ensure: operational flexibility; efficient solutions for large groups; adequate comfort for intercontinental trips.

The company expects strong interest, particularly in the summer period, from clubs and sports organizations.

Services also dedicated to groups, companies and private travellers

In addition to football-related travel, charter flights will be available for: tour operators; sports organizations; business groups; private travellers who need customised transatlantic flights.

The authorisation therefore expands Wizz Air UK's operational opportunities in the international charter segment, strengthening its presence in the UK market. Charter bookings are already open.
