Wizz Air boosts flights from Alghero and Olbia
Wizz Air strengthens its presence in Northern Sardinia and presents the largest summer schedule ever scheduled from Alghero and Olbia airports. For the 2026 Summer Season, the airline will provide nearly 440,000 seats to and from the two airports, up 108% from summer 2025, operating a total of 11 routes to 10 countries.
Wizz Air flights to/from Alghero
The 2026 summer program particularly affects Alghero-Fertilia "Riviera del Corallo" airport, where Wizz Air will operate 8 routes to 8 countries, with 311,000 seats available and a growth of 253% compared to the previous summer season. From Alghero, 5 new routes will be introduced: Belgrade, Skopje, Tirana, Warsaw (Modlin Airport) and Venice.
The Alghero-Belgrade route is operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with fares starting from €29.99. The Alghero-Skopje connection will be active on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with fares from 39.99 euros and scheduled to start on 18 July. The new Alghero-Tirana route will depart on 24 June and will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays, with fares starting from €19.99. The new Alghero-Warsaw Modlin network, operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and Alghero-Venice, departing from 1 July with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, complete the new network.
For passengers departing from Northern Sardinia, the expansion means more direct access to destinations that are different in culture, history and travel style. Tirana, Sofia, Budapest, Venice, Skopje, Warsaw, Bucharest and Belgrade strengthen the range of destinations that can be reached from Alghero, including European capitals, cities of art, emerging destinations and useful connections also for visiting friends and family.
Wizz Air is now the third largest carrier in Alghero in terms of market share, with a market share of 13.8%.
Wizz Air flights to/from Olbia
Olbia Costa Smeralda airport also confirms its role in Wizz Air's strategy in Sardinia. In summer 2026, the company will operate 3 routes to 2 countries, with over 128,000 seats available and a growth of 4% compared to the 2025 Summer Season.
In Olbia, the strengthening will mainly concern the increase in frequencies. The Olbia-Milan Malpensa connection will increase from 9 to 11 weekly flights. The Olbia-Rome Ciampino route will be operated daily, while Olbia-Warsaw Chopin will reach up to 3 weekly frequencies in the summer peak.
With 309 routes to 33 countries, 26 airports served, 7 operational bases in Italy and 44 aircraft based in the country, Wizz Air consolidates its role as the second national carrier. Wizz Air's Italian bases are Catania, Milan Malpensa, Naples, Palermo, Rome Fiumicino, Turin and Venice.
