Volotea awarded as the best European low-cost airline at the World Travel Awards
Volotea has been awarded for the fifth time as "Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline" at the World Travel Awards, an award given as part of the 33rd edition of the event, held on 17 October 2026 in Kotor, Montenegro.
The company had already obtained the same title in 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025. The new recognition therefore brings Volotea's victories in the category dedicated to European low-cost airlines to five.
The World Travel Awards reward operators in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector every year through an online voting system that involves both professionals in the sector, such as travel agencies and tour operators, and the public. For Volotea, the award comes in a year in which the company has also achieved positive results in surveys dedicated to passenger satisfaction.

In Italy, the NPS stood at 42.4 points, reaching 52.1 points among Megavolotea customers. The company aims to close 2026 approaching 50 overall.
Another indicator directly concerns the propensity of Travellers to recommend the company: according to data released by Volotea, 9 out of 10 passengers, both globally and in Italy, would recommend the carrier to family and friends.
