Air Arabia flies from Sharjah to Rome
Air Arabia, a low-cost airline in the Middle East and North Africa, is expanding its European network with the launch of a new direct service between Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO).
Starting July 1, 2026, the company will operate daily non-stop flights between the United Arab Emirates and the Italian capital, strengthening tourist and business flows between the two countries and consolidating the carrier's presence in Italy.
Flight frequencies and schedules
The new service will be active with two weekly time slots:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Sharjah 08:15 – Rome 12:55,
- Rome 13:45 – Sharjah 21:50.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

Modern fleet and on-board services
The route will be operated with Airbus A320neo, one of the newest aircraft to join the Air Arabia fleet. The model guarantees greater fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and improved comfort for passengers.
The airline has a fleet entirely composed of Airbus A320s and A321s, the world's best-selling single-aisle aircraft. On board are available:
- SkyTime, free in-flight streaming service,
- SkyCafe, in-flight menu,
- Air Rewards, the airline's loyalty program.
Nearest Rome and Sharjah
The introduction of the flight to Rome represents a further step in the carrier's European expansion and consolidates its presence on the Italian market. Air Arabia already connects Sharjah with Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) and, with the addition of Fiumicino, now offers two strategic gateways to Italy.
For Rome, Air Arabia's connection enriches the offer to the Arabian Peninsula, strengthening the international positioning of Fiumicino, recognized as a 5-star Skytrax airport and Best Airport in Europe for nine consecutive years for the quality of passenger services.
For Italian Travellers, Sharjah represents not only a cultural destination in the Gulf, but also a strategic hub to continue to destinations in the Indian subcontinent and Asia.
