TAP Air Portugal launches Economy Prime
TAP Air Portugal is expanding its long-haul offering with the launch of Economy Prime, a new cabin designed for passengers who want more comfort and more services while remaining within Economy Class. The novelty will be available on flights operating from 1 June 2026 and can already be purchased through all TAP channels and through travel agencies.
The new proposal is between Economy and Business and will be introduced on Airbus A330 and A321LR aircraft. The aim is to offer a more comfortable, more private and smoother travel experience, responding to a growing demand for intermediate solutions on long-haul connections.
The Economy Prime cabin has 12 seats, located just behind Business Class, with a configuration of four seats per row. A distinctive element is the side seat that is always left free, a choice that helps to create a quieter and more private environment, with more personal space and a more relaxing flight experience.
For passengers, the benefits begin at the airport. Those who choose Economy Prime can count on a series of premium services designed to make the travel journey easier and faster, including dedicated check-in, priority baggage handling, Fast Track at security checks and priority boarding.
Even on board, the new cabin offers a more refined service. Passengers receive a premium main meal with two hot options, with the option to pre-select their choice up to 24 hours before departure. The experience also includes a courtesy kit and a premium pillow, designed to increase comfort during the flight.
Economy Prime also includes benefits dedicated to frequent flyers and those looking for more flexibility in ticket management. These include more generous mileage bonuses, the possibility of changing your booking and more advantageous refund conditions. For this reason, the new cabin is presented as a particularly interesting solution for those who fly often or want a more complete experience than the traditional Economy.
