Starlink Wi-Fi on the entire Lufthansa Group fleet

Free high-speed internet for status and Travel ID customers on around 850 aircraft with first flights from the second half of 2026

The Lufthansa Group is accelerating on the premium experience front and announcing a strategic investment in in-flight connectivity: from 2026, all of the Group's approximately 850 aircraft (both those already in service and new deliveries) will be progressively equipped with Starlink high-speed broadband internet

Thanks to advanced satellite technology, passengers will be able to count on significantly higher speeds and bandwidth, with a user experience comparable to that on the ground. This will enable streaming, working on cloud platforms and high-performance applications during the flight. The service will be free of charge for status customers and Travel ID users, in all travel classes.

Lufthansa Group becomes the largest airline group in Europe to equip its entire fleet with the latest generation connectivity: no other European airline will integrate Starlink on such a large number of aircraft. The project is part of a broader plan that includes new aircraft and the development of premium products and services throughout the customer journey. The phased rollout of Starlink will begin in the second half of 2026 and will continue to cover the entire fleet by 2029. The airlines of the Lufthansa Group are: Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, as well as regional airlines such as Air Dolomiti, Edelweiss Air and Lufthansa CityLine).

Chief Commercial Officer Dieter Vranckx underlined how, in the year of the Lufthansa Group's centenary, the adoption of Starlink represents a decisive step to raise passenger comfort and satisfaction, recognizing connectivity as a central role in the contemporary travel experience.
