New destinations for Lufthansa City Airlines

For the summer, the youngest airline of the Lufthansa Group, offers new flights from Munich to Barcelona, Bordeaux, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Paris (CDG), Rome and Seville

Lufthansa City Airlines, the youngest airline in the Lufthansa Group, has received its first newly manufactured Airbus A320neo at the Airbus plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, registered D-AIJP and christened "Ingelheim am Rhein".

Based in Munich and soon to expand to Frankfurt from 2026, Lufthansa City Airlines confirms itself as a key player in the redefinition of European short-haul traffic, strengthening the Lufthansa Group's competitiveness in intra-European connections and supporting the planned expansion of long-haul routes.

The new A320neo, nicknamed "Juliett Papa", will enter service from May, with a 180-seat configuration and a modern Airspace cabin that offers larger storage spaces, an innovative lighting system and even more comfortable seats.

With this new delivery, Lufthansa City Airlines' fleet reaches eight aircraft: four Airbus A319s and four Airbus A320neos. By the end of 2025, the fleet will be expanded to 15 units, with the arrival of five more new A320neos and two additional leased A320neos. Starting from the end of 2026, delivery of the 40 Airbus A220-300s will begin.

Expansion of the European network

In parallel with the growth of the fleet, Lufthansa City Airlines will continue to expand its network of European destinations. For the 2025 summer schedule, seven new routes will be activated from Munich to Barcelona, Bordeaux, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Rome and Seville.
