New British Airways flight connects London and Olbia for the summer
British Airways has announced the new London Stansted - Olbia flight, operated by BA Cityflyer. The service will be active from 23 May to 27 September 2026, expanding the UK market's access to one of the most dynamic seaside destinations in the Mediterranean.
The choice of Olbia is part of a context of strong growth in tourism in Sardinia: in 2024 the island recorded 18.9 million overnight stays, an increase of 38% compared to 2023, confirming the growing international appeal of the destination. The new connection offers UK Travellers a direct and convenient option to reach the north-east of the island, known for iconic beaches, crystal clear sea and a high-level tourist offer.
Flights from London Stansted to Olbia will be operated twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, ideal for leisure stays and weekly holidays. The route joins the seasonal summer flight London City - Olbia, launched by BA Cityflyer in May 2025 and also confirmed for 2026.
Overall, in summer 2026 BA Cityflyer will fly to Olbia Airport up to five times a week from London City (LCY) and twice a week from London Stansted (STN), significantly strengthening connectivity between the UK and Sardinia. Fares start at £127 each way, with hand baggage allowance included, making the connection particularly competitive for the leisure segment.
