American Airlines will bring Starlink Wi-Fi to more than 500 planes
American Airlines announces a new step in the modernization of the in-flight experience: starting in the first quarter of 2027, the company will install Starlink satellite Wi-Fi on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft, with the aim of offering passengers a faster, more stable and high-performance connection during the flight.
The new service will be installed on Airbus aircraft and on new deliveries of A321XLR and A321neo, helping to improve the quality of the connection during the journey and to make the digital experience on board even closer to that available on the ground.
For American Airlines, the agreement with Starlink is part of a broader strategy to innovate passenger services. The ability to stay connected quickly and stably is an increasingly important element both for business travelers and for those who want to use flight time for entertainment, communication or managing their digital activities.
The company, which celebrates its centenary in 2026, thus continues to invest in improving the travel experience, combining the global network and on-board services with new technological solutions designed to meet the needs of contemporary passengers.
