flydubai celebrates two years of flights to Samarkand
Over 680,000 passengers transported between Dubai and Uzbekistan since the launch of operations in 2019
flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, is celebrating the second anniversary of operations to Samarkand, Uzbekistan. flydubai's operations in Uzbekistan began in March 2019 with direct flights to the capital, Tashkent. The company subsequently expanded its presence in the country by launching flights to the historic city of Samarkand on September 20, 2022. Since starting its operations, flydubai has carried over 680,000 passengers between Dubai and various destinations in Uzbekistan.
Currently, flydubai operates two daily flights to Tashkent and three weekly flights to Samarkand, offering passengers convenient connections to Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh and other destinations, thanks to Dubai's role as a major global aviation hub.

Uzbekistan, located along the historic Silk Road, is renowned for its spectacular architecture and historical sites, including magnificent mosques and madrasas. Tashkent, one of the largest cities in Central Asia, is famous for its culture, architecture, and cuisine. Samarkand, known for its Islamic architecture, is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites , such as Registan Square, the Bibi Khanym Mosque , and the Gur-e-Amir complex.

Flights to Tashkent and Samarkand depart from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), with Emirates offering codeshare on these routes to ensure convenient and reliable travel options.
To date, flydubai's network covers over 125 destinations in 55 countries, served by a fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft. The company has expanded its network in Central Asia to eight destinations.
flydubai connects five Italian airports with Dubai, offering direct flights from Catania, Milan Bergamo, Naples, Olbia and Pisa. These routes facilitate tourism and business travel between Italy and the United Arab Emirates, and through the international hub in Dubai, passengers can enjoy convenient connections to over 125 destinations around the world, covering Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, thanks to flydubai's extensive network and its collaborations with other airlines.
