Emirates and Air Mauritius strengthen partnership

Codeshare flights to selected destinations such as Antananarivo, Colombo, Dammam, Cairo, Karachi, Jeddah and Riyadh operated by Airbus A380

Emirates and Air Mauritius have renewed their strategic partnership, consolidating a collaboration that began in 2003 and was expanded in 2013. The agreement includes codeshare flights on selected routes, cooperation in loyalty programs and cargo services, as well as broader interconnection on their respective networks.

The agreement, signed with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Mauritius, allows Air Mauritius to affix its code on Emirates flights to key destinations such as Cairo, Colombo, Karachi, Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh. Emirates, for its part, can collaborate with Air Mauritius on the Mauritius–Antananarivo route. In addition, thanks to the agreement, Air Mauritius can interline Emirates' entire global network.

Since the launch of services to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has carried more than 8.8 million passengers and more than 126,000 tonnes of cargo, contributing substantially to the island's international visibility, tourism and economic growth. According to estimates, this partnership has generated annual benefits of $900 million for the Mauritian economy, of which: $119 million came directly from Emirates' 14 weekly flights, $264 million in tourism revenues, $530 million from tourism-related expenses. The employment impact of the agreement is equally significant, with the creation of around 3,600 direct and indirect jobs.

Emirates currently operates 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Mauritius, all operated by the Airbus A380, the only double-decker aircraft in service on the island. Emirates is also the only airline to offer First Class on board on this route.

The agreement with Air Mauritius is part of a wider network of commercial cooperation that sees Emirates collaborate with 164 global partners, including interline, codeshare and intermodal agreements, expanding the reach of its network to approximately 1,800 cities around the world.
