Cathay Pacific's direct Rome-Hong Kong flight is back
Following the successful resumption of connections in the 2025 summer season, Cathay Pacific announces the return of direct flights between Rome Fiumicino and Hong Kong for summer 2026. The seasonal service will operate from 30 March to 24 October 2026, with three weekly frequencies - Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
Hong Kong's flag carrier currently connects Italy with direct flights from Milan Malpensa, with daily service, and from Rome Fiumicino Airport, strengthening ties between Italy and Asia and consolidating the Cathay group's European network.
Passengers departing from Rome will be able to take advantage of convenient connections via Hong Kong to numerous destinations in the Asia-Pacific, while Travellers arriving from Asia will have direct access to Rome and the main Italian destinations.
Rome–Hong Kong flights will be operated with the Airbus A350-900, equipped with new generation cabins:
- Business Class with lie-flat seats and direct aisle access.
- Premium Economy Class with wider seats and more legroom.
- Ergonomic and award-winning Economy Class for comfort and design.
All classes offer state-of-the-art entertainment systems, Wi-Fi connection and a catering service with attention to detail.

- CX292 Rome (FCO) → Hong Kong (HKG): departure 13:00 – arrival 06:30 (+1 day) – Monday, Thursday, Saturday.
- CX293 Hong Kong (HKG) → Rome (FCO): departure 00:30 – arrival 07:35 – Monday, Thursday, Saturday
