New retail experience in Terminal 3 of Frankfurt Airport

In 2026, a 12,000 sqm commercial area opens with 64 stores, iconic brands, smart services and innovative design that blends global luxury and local identity

Frankfurt Airport is preparing to usher in a new era of airport shopping with Terminal 3, opening in spring 2026. There will be 64 retail spaces spread over an area of 12,000 square meters, designed to offer passengers a sophisticated, personalized and immersive shopping experience, in line with the concept "The Art of Retail in the Heart of Europe".

A marketplace at the heart of the new terminal
The beating heart of the new offer will be located in the international transit area, where 15 shops, a bar and two food courts (with about 1,000 seats) will animate a scenic area covered by a futuristic roof design.

Frankfurt Airport Retail GmbH (FAR) – a joint venture between Fraport and Gebr. Heinemann – will manage the entire Duty Free and Travel Value division, which will increase from 4 to 23 stores. FAR has also signed exclusive agreements with prestigious brands such as Boss and Montblanc, and will introduce the Gatezero format for Germany, an innovative lifestyle store that will combine fashion, tech and urban culture.

Luxury, lifestyle and design
The commercial proposal will be enriched by consolidated brands such as Capi Electronics, which will open two new stores, Christ with high jewellery and watches, Sunglass Hut, Tumi and Longchamp, for a selection of high-end eyewear, bags and luggage.

Victoria's Secret also returns to Frankfurt, with lingerie, perfumes and beauty products. The store will be managed by Setur GmbH, an international operator in the travel retail sector.

German excellence at the heart of the experience
Alongside the big international names, Terminal 3 will enhance the local identity. The Falke brand, a historic German manufacturer of hosiery and clothing, will strengthen its presence in the airport, bringing with it its philosophy that combines tradition and innovation.

The Wöllhaf group's "Germany On My Mind" and "Germany's Selection" concept stores will also sign the tribute to Made in Germany, with a selected assortment of souvenirs, food, design and German lifestyle, including items dedicated to children, in welcoming spaces with attention to detail.

Financial services and tax-free refunds
To complete the offer, The Change Group will debut with 5 points of sale and 12 ATMs branded Prosegur Change, offering exchange in over 50 currencies, international transfers, online travel money and VAT refunds. Global Blue will also be present with two counters dedicated to tax refunds.

Public areas and ground services
The new area accessible to the public will include six convenience stores, two of which are signed by Relay (Lagardère Travel Retail), with snacks, drinks, books and travel items. Lagardère will also manage two food spaces in the arrivals area, while Avolta AG will be present in the departures area with two restaurants. Overall, there will be 22 refreshment points managed by both groups in Terminal 3.

For road travellers, there will be six car rental companies: Avis/Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Wheego. In addition, the REWE To Go format, a self-service supermarket in Lekkerland, already active in Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport, will also be replicated here.
