Wetherspoon opens in Alicante
A new milestone for Lagardère Travel Retail in Spain. Miguel Hernández officially opened "Castell de Santa Bàrbera" in the departures area of Alicante-Elche Airport, the first Wetherspoon pub in mainland Spain and a significant debut for the brand in continental Europe as well.

The new space, franchised by the Lagardère Travel Retail team, reproduces the authentic atmosphere of a British pub, with an iconic food offer by Wetherspoon. The concept has been enriched with Mediterranean elements and a terrace designed to offer passengers a relaxing environment before boarding. The format has been designed to cover the entire duration of the airport's operating day: from early morning breakfasts to the last evening flights, responding to highly leisure international traffic and a growing demand for distinctive food and beverage experiences at the airport.
