Avolta grows at Sofia Airport: new retail and catering spaces

Avolta expands its presence at Sofia International Airport (SOF) with the opening of three new food & beverage concepts on an area of more than 580 m² and the complete renovation of the travel retail stores in Terminal 1, which will gain an additional 250 m² of exhibition space.

The transaction marks Avolta's official entry into the Bulgarian food and beverage market, with the aim of offering travelers a proposal that combines local flavors and international standards. "It is an important step in our expansion into Southeast Europe", said Walter Seib, Avolta CEO for North, Central and Eastern Europe.

Already in 2024, Avolta had inaugurated three new points of sale in Terminal 2, including a duty free of almost 2,000 m², confirming the strategy shared with the airport management to create a modern, welcoming airport that is increasingly attentive to the passenger experience.
