Jean Bugatti, the legacy of excellence
On the 115th anniversary of the birth of Jean Bugatti, the genius who redefined automotive elegance, Bugatti celebrates his vision with unique creations such as the Chiron Super Sport "57 One of One" and the W16 Mistral, inspired by his timeless masterpieces. A tribute to the perfect union of art, power and innovation

A good 115 years ago, on January 15th, Jean Bugatti was born, the visionary designer and engineer who has imprinted an indelible imprint of style, innovation and refinement on the brand's DNA. His legacy spans eras and generations, inspiring Bugatti's most exclusive creations to this day.

In the glorious 1930s, Jean Bugatti shaped icons such as the Type 57 SC Atlantic, one of the rarest, most luxurious and celebrated cars in automotive history. A silhouette sculpted over time, made of absolute balance between art and performance. Almost ninety years after its creation, the Atlantic is not just a car: it is a symbol of aesthetic perfection, and the beating heart of today's Bugatti stylistic vision.

This vision finds contemporary expression in the Chiron Super Sport "57 One of One", a tailor-made masterpiece created for a collector with refined taste and deeply linked to Jean's legacy. The result of the Sur Mesure programme, the car masterfully reinterprets the iconic features of the Type 57: from the grille sculpted with glossy vertical lines to the Blu Argenté finish, up to the hand-drawn silhouette of the Atlantic engraved on the rear wing. Everything is designed to evoke the spirit of a masterpiece of the past, projecting it into the technical language of a 440 km/h hypercar.

But the echo of Jean Bugatti's genius extends even further, to the W16 Mistral, the Maison's latest limited-edition roadster . Inspired by the Type 57 Grand Raid Usine, it is an ode to the purest savoir-faire, handcrafted in the Molsheim Atelier. The Mistral takes up the aesthetic and engineering codes of the original roadster (from the sculpted fenders to the V-shaped windshield, up to the legendary black and yellow colors favored by Ettore Bugatti, Jean's father) giving new life to one of the most elegant discoveries ever built.

Jean was not only a design artist: he was also a silent innovator of modern engineering. In the 1930s, it introduced a scalable and modular architecture, anticipating a design philosophy that is now central to the automotive industry. And it was precisely because of this far-sighted vision, capable of blending technique and beauty, that Ettore entrusted him with the leadership of the company in 1936.

Today, every line drawn, every refined detail, every performance achieved by Bugatti still bears the mark of its bold spirit. From the latest bespoke creations to hypercars destined to redefine the future of luxury mobility, Jean Bugatti lives on every turn. A legacy that is not only celebrated, but continues to inspire excellence.

As part of the Works Bespoke programme, these unique models celebrate the legacy of the E-type through new details, crafted with more than 2,000 hours of craftsmanship. Each element has been studied with philological precision, but reinterpreted to satisfy the desires of those who today seek exclusivity and absolute refinement.

Two visions of perfection: one E-type in Signet Green, the other in Opal Black, both convertible and finished with Bridge of Weir light leather interiors, hand-stitched and woven with black leather inserts. The woven weave is a first for Jaguar Classic, testifying to the continuous evolution of an art that combines tradition and innovation.

Among the most iconic elements, the center console in anodized aluminum stands out, engraved with an authentic technical drawing of the E-type Series I, from the Jaguar historical archives and already exhibited at the MoMA in New York. A tangible tribute to design considered a work of art all over the world.

Further embellishing these automotive masterpieces is the collaboration with Deakin & Francis, a historic English high jewellery house active since 1786. The front and rear badges, horn button, gear lever and even key cover are finely crafted from sterling silver, mother-of-pearl and 18K gold, making every detail a work of art in its own right.

Under the long bonnet beats the heart of legend: the classic 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine, updated with electronic injection and mated to a Jaguar Classic five-speed manual gearbox, to ensure a driving experience that combines mechanical authenticity with modern comfort. A discreet Bluetooth radio and heated windscreen complete the equipment, elevating functionality without altering the car's original spirit.

An exclusive tribute, intended for only two units, which ideally closes the circle opened in 1974 with the original Commemorative Edition. Jaguar Classic E-type Commemoratives are not just cars: they are unique collector's items, an expression of a golden era reinterpreted for today's elite.

Born from the vision of designer Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design and built in the ISA shipyards, the Voyager 45 blends structural power and aesthetic refinement in a dynamic and modern profile, which retains the unmistakable stylistic signature of the brand. Taut lines, harmonious surfaces and very clean details define a yacht designed to fascinate even from afar.

The advanced superstructure allows for a unique configuration of the aft area: a multi-purpose space where the owner can choose between a 4.5-metre panoramic swimming pool combined with a 6-metre tender, or create an elegant lounge area with freestanding furniture. The tender crane, ingeniously hidden in the side handrail, ensures functionality without compromising the elegance of the exterior profile.

Made with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the Voyager 45 stands out for its balanced proportions: 45 meters long, 9.34 wide and a draft of 2.60 meters, for a gross tonnage of 445 GT. Aft, the beach club is an intimate and sophisticated retreat: hammam, gym, bathroom and shower are perfectly integrated into a space pervaded by natural light that filters from the pool above through a scenic glass ceiling.

The play of chromatic contrasts (champagne for the hull, pearl white for the superstructure, anthracite gray for the roll-bar) creates a contemporary visual impact, enhanced by large windows, flush flooring and retractable windows.

Inside, the design combines noble materials and natural palettes: light woods, woven leather, touches of ocean blue and perfectly organized spaces. The owner's suite, forward of the main deck, includes a private study, bathroom with double vanity and a walk-in shower. In addition to these, there are four double cabins with en suite bathrooms on the lower deck, designed to guarantee guests maximum comfort, even on long-haul cruises.

The upper deck is dedicated to entertainment: a large L-shaped sofa, large screen and convivial lounge area for moments of relaxation or cinema under the stars. The sundeck invites you to spend time outdoors with a dining area, sundecks and spaces that can be modulated according to the owner's needs.

The crew layout includes double cabins below deck for eight members, while the captain's cabin, adjacent to the bridge, guarantees smooth and confidential navigation management. Powered by two 746 kW Caterpillar engines, the Voyager 45 reaches a top speed of 14 knots, with a comfortable cruise at 12 knots. Its range of 5,500 nautical miles at 10 knots makes it ideal for ocean crossings, offering technical reliability and unstoppable luxury.

Attitude: style on the water
The DOM 133 "Attitude" by Baglietto: 41 meters of functional elegance, interiors by Ezequiel Farca, open architecture and tailor-made details for a new idea of a home by the sea, designed for long cruises and moments to share

By Enzo Cuppatri

The DOM 133 "Attitude" by Baglietto has established itself as one of the most eagerly awaited protagonists of the Cannes Yachting Festival, embodying an evolved vision of contemporary exploration yachts. With 41 meters in length, an aluminum hull and a shallow draft of 2.15 meters, this yacht has been designed to combine ocean seaworthiness, contemporary villa comfort and uncompromising style, even in shallow waters.

The signature of designer Ezequiel Farca is reflected in every architectural choice, where spaces open up, merge and adapt harmoniously to life on board. Designed to be a house on the water, "Attitude" was created to welcome modern and dynamic families, ready to experience the sea with a free and refined spirit.

Thanks to a generous width of 8.70 metres, the organisation of the spaces is surprising: the main salon opens onto floor-to-ceiling windows that slide and visually and physically connect the interior with the beach club on two levels, equipped with an infinity pool with a liftable bottom, signature of the latest Baglietto creations. The aft cockpit is transformed into a perfect "alfresco" living room, to be enjoyed even at anchor or in port, in total privacy and comfort.

Inside, the atmosphere recalls that of a Californian design villa: warm shades of beige and brown are intertwined with textured oak woods, light carpets and leather details. The works of Stéphane Parmentier, together with the selected furnishings (Minotti sofas, Flexform armchairs, a majestic ten-seater Minotti marble table under a custom-made Viabizzuno chandelier) create environments of spontaneous and sophisticated elegance. Decorating the dining room is a monumental glass and metal wall designed by Sophie Mallebranche, an expression of an artistic and timeless design.

Towards the bow, a professional kitchen with adjoining pantry joins the owner's suite, a real apartment on board with private study, walk-in closet, lounge area and bathroom with central shower and fine finishes. The four guest cabins on the lower deck – two VIP and two doubles – are all equipped with en suite bathrooms. The layout is completed by a separate crew area, consisting of four double cabins, laundry room and common room.

The convivial heart of the upper deck is the sky lounge, where technology integrates with design: a large TV is hidden by reflective glass in a refined living room, while outside there is an en plein air dining area. In the bow, the leather-covered helm station is flanked by a private relaxation area with sofas and sundecks, perfect for intimate moments overlooking the sea.

The sundeck is a manifesto of contemporary lifestyle: clean lines, natural materials, a central bar with wood and stone geometries, a dining table, a lounge area and an infinity view of the stern. A real terrace on the blue.

The aft garage houses a 5.7-meter tender, while a rescue tender is housed in the bow. Propulsion is entrusted to two Caterpillar C32 engines, capable of pushing the yacht to a top speed of 17 knots and guaranteeing a cruising speed of 15 knots. With a great autonomy, the DOM 133 "Attitude" is designed for long-range cruising, without ever sacrificing elegance, flexibility and a spirit of discovery.
