Beyond Aero, a pioneer in zero-emission aerospace high engineering, is on a mission to electrify the sky. The company has successfully closed a $20 million Series A funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $44 million, including grants and strategic funding.
The round was jointly led by Giant Ventures and Bpifrance, via the Deeptech 2030 fund, with participation from visionary investors including Initialized Capital, the co-founders of Airbnb and Dropbox - Nate Blecharczyk and Arash Ferdowsi - and world-renowned sportsmen such as Raphaël Varane and Nikola Karabatić through Teampact Ventures.
Founded with the aim of concretely addressing the climate emergency, Beyond Aero is developing "One", the first hydrogen-electric business jet, designed to carry 6 to 8 passengers over a distance of 800 nautical miles (about 1,500 km). High performance, superior range and zero environmental impact: the aircraft will be powered by fuel cells that emit only water vapor, five times more efficient than current battery-electric jets.
The radically innovative concept completely rethinks the architecture of a CS23 certifiable aircraft, optimizing it for hydrogen propulsion and positioning itself as the sustainable and high-level answer to the growing demand for environmentally friendly business aviation. The startup has already obtained $914 million in Letters of Intent for 108 aircraft, with an elite clientele that includes visionary entrepreneurs, international celebrities, athletes and top managers of large groups.
After achieving the first manned hydrogen electric flight in France, Beyond Aero has strengthened its team with the entry of Luiz Oliveira, already advisor for Embraer's hybrid-hydrogen program, in the role of Chief Engineer. The company employs more than 50 highly skilled engineers in its Toulouse, Paris and Los Angeles offices, and expects new hires in the coming months.
Beyond Aero is part of the First Movers Coalition of the World Economic Forum, as well as a member of the Alliance for Zero Emission Aviation, and has received international awards including Brilliant Minds and the Sustainable Aviation Challenge, confirming a positioning of both technological and environmental excellence.
