SL80A: the First Icon that rewrites Sanlorenzo's SL line
With the SL80A, Sanlorenzo gives life to what it calls the "First Icon" of its range: a yacht in which over forty years of stylistic research are condensed with extreme clarity, bringing proportion, balance, light and liveability on board to the fore.
The SL line has always been the maximum expression of the shipyard's DNA, a legacy that today extends from 78 to 120 feet while remaining faithful to a consistent language: each new model builds on the experience of the previous ones, perfecting an aesthetic capable of holding together elegance, harmony of form and functionality. It is from this heritage that SL80A was born, where the distinctive features of the Sanlorenzo signature are transposed on a more intimate scale, without losing anything in terms of balance.
Great in everything except length
SL80A translates the character of the historic SL line into a boat designed for a more agile and contemporary use. While remaining under 24 meters, it does not give up atmosphere, proportions and comfort, giving that feeling of spaciousness and refinement that is usually associated with much larger boats.
This philosophy makes it possible to transfer the same quality and construction standards of the higher models in the range to a more compact and accessible platform, capable of reaching coasts and landings that are precluded to larger yachts, without sacrificing the comfort and design care typical of the brand. The result is a product with generous spaces and a sophisticated character designed for experienced owners. The asymmetrical architecture, now a distinctive feature of the line, has been further refined to expand the interior volumes and strengthen the dialogue between indoor and outdoor environments, increasing livability without affecting the balance of forms.
The signature of Zuccon International Project
The exterior design and interior architecture both bear the signature of Zuccon International Project, which thus continues a ten-year collaboration with the shipyard in shaping the evolution of the SL line. Essential proportions, clean lines and a strong continuity between hull and superstructure define a profile that remains immediately recognizable. The Flybridge, a key element of the SL identity, blends into the overall silhouette, reinforcing its elegance without weighing it down visually.
The yacht goes beyond the asymmetrical architecture introduced by the shipyard in 2018: the sidedeck moved to the starboard side frees up space on the opposite side, expanding livability on board by up to 20% and giving greater openness and brightness in all rooms. In an overall length of less than 24 meters, SL80A houses four guest cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite , as well as spaces designed for conviviality and daily life at sea. The Main Deck is bright and open, with floor-to-ceiling windows that maintain a constant visual link with the outside.
The asymmetrical configuration gives the saloon a breather, giving it a more architectural imprint, while the circulation between the rooms is fluid and natural. By moving the wheelhouse to the mezzanine, additional volume has been freed up for the living spaces below without sacrificing driving visibility. A striking architectural detail is the staircase that connects the saloon and the Flybridge: made of bent micro-perforated metal, it almost seems to dissolve into space, becoming an integral part of the yacht's composition through the play between light, geometry and materials.
The interiors speak a warm and contemporary material language, dominated by Thai walnut, chosen for the soft tone that dialogues with the teak of the external surfaces. The "Azteca" parquet, designed by Studio Zuccon for Cadorin, introduces a geometric pattern inspired by triangular shapes, taken up in the wall panels and headboards to create depth and visual continuity. Outside, the aft cockpit opens completely onto the water, while the large lounge area in the bow easily transitions from a sunbathing area to a space for convivial dinners.
Balanced proportions, fluid spaces and meticulous attention to detail confirm the identity of the SL range, reinterpreted for a new generation of owners looking for a more direct and authentic sailing experience. More than a new model, the SL80A is the continuation of a philosophy that has guided Sanlorenzo for over forty years: a way of understanding boating in which elegance, innovation and architectural rigour coexist in perfect balance.
