Riva Aquariva Special: the icon gets a makeover
A symbol of Italian nautical excellence, the new Riva Aquariva Special takes up the legacy of the legendary Aquarama, of which it officially assumes the title of "Special", becoming the longest-lived model in the range with over 300 units produced in more than twenty years. Premiered at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival in the refined Petrol Blue livery, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the brand's history.
10.07 meters long and 2.80 meters wide, the Aquariva Special maintains the harmonious proportions and purity of lines that have made the model famous, reinterpreting them with a modern stylistic language. The project bears the signature of Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, founders of Officina Italiana Design, in collaboration with the Product Strategy Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
Among the aesthetic innovations, the completely redesigned, more aerodynamic windshield and the stern swim platform with a wider and more ergonomic design, designed to improve comfort and facilitate access to the sea, stand out. The side fascia, now in fiberglass and in the same color as the hull, replaces the mahogany of the previous version, while the new navigation lights and light casing take up the language introduced with the 2022 Riva Anniversary.
The interiors, with attention to the smallest details, look like a living room on the water. The U-shaped sofa in Sky fabric, matching the colour of the hull, can accommodate up to eight people and can be transformed into a sunbathing area, thanks to the height-adjustable central table.
The integrated electro-hydraulic bimini ensures shade and comfort at all times of navigation. The elegant and functional driving area is available in analogue or digital versions, with dual Boening displays and integrated navigation, as well as the possibility of installing a manoeuvring joystick for more intuitive control.
From a technical point of view, the Aquariva Special introduces important innovations. The hull, made with infusion technology, is lighter but just as rigid, allowing the installation of the Seakeeper NG6, the gyroscopic stabilizer that eliminates roll both at sea and at anchor.
The system is completed by Humphree interceptors, which guarantee perfect stability of the trim. Powered by two 370 horsepower YANMAR 8LV engines, with electronically managed two-speed gearbox, the boat reaches a maximum speed of 40.5 knots and a cruising speed of 36 knots, giving the unmistakable sailing pleasure of the Riva world.
