New Magellano 66 by Azimut

The ultimate lifestyle for a seagoing experience beyond all expectations: freedom, discovery, efficiency
Freedom of navigation, advanced naval architecture and highly efficient consumption, plus an approach to design that enhances each individual owner’s lifestyle. These are the driving forces behind the creation and ongoing evolution of Azimut’s Magellano Line, the first series of crossovers in boating history, introduced in 2009 and still riding high on the waves with a broad range of models from 13 to 30 meters.

A classic in step with the times, the New Magellano 66 is a 20-meter, long-range yacht that represents the ideal solution for connoisseurs who love cruising for long distances in a variety of sea conditions. While the large hull and multi-purpose spatial architecture offer the combined pleasure of socialisation and intimacy, superior fuel efficiency means freedom of destination and the possibility of long-range cruises in places and at times reserved for the few, all in pure Magellano style.

Combining peerless stability and comfort at sea with the very highest technical standards, Magellano 66 is a pure crossover offering limitless cruising in total safety, both in displacement mode at 10 or 12 knots and at higher speeds up to a maximum of about 23 knots.

Azimut makes use of carbon fiber in the boat’s construction to reduce its weight, which taken together with the second-generation Dual Mode hull designed in partnership with P.L.A.N.A., cuts fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20% at speeds from 15 to 22 kn compared to regular hard chine hulls. This achievement gives Magellano 66 a rightful place in Azimut’s family of low emission yachts, which now numbers 12 models out of a total 24 in the fleet.

Magellano 66 is also true to its crossover credentials in the interior layout, which adapts perfectly to the needs of the owner by offering two solutions: an open space version with galley and helm station partially in view thanks to the choice of low furnishings, for those in search of visual continuity, or a Navetta layout with the galley and helm station separate from the living area, for those who prefer more privacy and independence for guests and crew.

The Main Deck is all on one level and features extensive glazed surfaces overlooking the sea, flooding the interior with natural light and offering the maximum possible space. The sofa area at the entrance to the saloon leads forward into the dining area, which is furnished with a rectangular table and six comfortable upholstered chairs.

On the Lower Deck, the light-filled master cabin with large windows and spacious wardrobes is flanked by two other cabins, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. A fourth cabin can be used either as a functional area (for the pantry or storage for sports equipment) or be fitted with bunk beds to provide additional accommodation. The bright welcome offered by every space is underscored by the choice of curved lines and a refined palette of neutral colour tones.

The exterior layout designed for sharing offers wide open spaces and a spirit of transformation. Not least on the Flybridge, where a cosy American bar can be added to the aft lounge area, or in the cockpit, where the dining area can easily be transformed into a spacious shaded relaxation area, but also on the infinity terrace, with its clear glass parapet offering a view of the water stretching as far as the eye can see.

Once again, the Yard reveals its desire to create multifunctional spaces that reflect owners’ tastes and lifestyles, interpreting them with an innovative, appealing approach and exceeding market expectations.
