The iconic Togo armchair by Boss
Boss and the French design maison Ligne Roset sign a new project dedicated to contemporary design, reinterpreting one of the great classics of furniture: the Togo armchair. From the collaboration comes the Boss | Ligne Roset Tailored Togo, proposed together with its footstool, in a version that combines the language of tailoring with the iconic comfort of design.
The project stands out for an unprecedented combination of materials and finishes. The new Togo is in fact the only edition of the model to feature a mix of high-quality leather, a seat surface in soft and refined fabric and contrasting stitching inspired by the sartorial universe of Boss. The result is a seat designed to offer an immersive experience, where deep and enveloping comfort dialogues with a more elegant and architectural silhouette.
Two brands united by their attention to precision, innovation and fine materials give life to an object that lies between design and fashion. The new Togo is presented as a sort of "evening dress" for interiors: essential but recognizable, structured but soft to the touch, designed for contemporary environments where luxury is expressed through the quality of the experience.
The design object revives the feeling of a made-to-measure garment, through a balance between comfort, craftsmanship and contemporary refinement. A new dialogue between iconic design and innovation, in which craftsmanship meets the precision of tailoring to create an expressive, comfortable and contemporary piece.
The Togo, after all, has long been one of the most recognizable icons of international design. The model has made a radically informal approach to furniture famous, thanks to a 100% all-foam construction, with no sharp edges, and the use of up to five different types of foam integrated into a single armchair. A formula that has redefined the relationship between comfort and form and that continues to maintain its visual strength intact today.
Behind the apparent simplicity of its famous shape lies a highly specialized workmanship. The crinkled pleats that define the Togo are not in fact the result of a standardized industrial process, but of an artisanal pleating technique applied by hand and mastered by only 15 expert upholsterers. Each model is thus consistent with the original model but at the same time unique, like a true piece of authorship.
The project is completed with a selection of Boss accessories designed to match the seat. Cushion covers in two-tone jacquard and a plaid with saddle stitching echo the sophisticated play between leather and fabric that characterizes the armchair. Added to these are some pieces from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, chosen to recall the same material and color codes. These include the Madison bag and Gary sneakers, made of light beige cotton and linen with leather trim, designed to reflect the refined tonal palette of the Togo. Completing the ensemble is a textured canvas duffel bag with leather details, a detachable shoulder strap, keychain and embossed logo.
The collaboration was presented at two key moments in the international design calendar: at the Ligne Roset event at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and on the occasion of the 5VIE Design Week in Milan at the historic Cesare Correnti 14 space. The Boss armchair and footstool | Ligne Roset Togo are available in limited edition at selected Ligne Roset stores and also displayed in the Boss Stores in Paris and Milan.
