Sicis' contemporary total living
SICIS, an Italian company based in Ravenna, is internationally recognized for its excellence in the art of mosaic and micromosaic and for its ability to translate this historical technique into a contemporary language, applying it to different contexts with a strong and immediately recognizable stylistic coherence. The result is a complete vision of the project, capable of building environments with identity, intensity and presence.
At the Salone del Mobile in Milan, SICIS developed its exhibition space as a sequence of distinct environments, each defined by a strong visual impact and dominated by artistic mosaic portraits.
Elements that recall the tradition of the maison but which, at the same time, take on a precise scenographic role: not simple decorations, but presences capable of determining the tone of the space and amplifying its character. In this context, a furnishing proposal has taken shape that confirms the full maturity of the brand in the world of contemporary living.
Among the focuses of the edition, SICIS presented a new and articulated collection of tables: thirteen new models, eight of which were exhibited at the fair. A broad project, built on carefully calibrated proportions, balances and material dialogues. In this research, Vetrite, glass, metal and marble are used as real design tools, chosen for their ability to generate deep, tactile and intensely material surfaces.
Among the novelties presented at the Salone stands out the Amaro armchair, whose design is inspired by the curve of an elegant amaro glass that opens upwards on a slender base. The enveloping backrest recalls petals that open, maintaining both softness and structure. Even the name refers to the Italian herbal liqueur, evoking sophistication, complexity and warmth. The armchair is available in rust-colored Nevada Rust leather.
Of a different but equally distinctive sign is the Mirai sofa, proposed in ice and ivory tones. Its fluid proportions and horizontal volumes evoke overlapping fabric panels, like silk in motion.
The transitions between the cushions are continuous, seamless, and recall the layered planes of traditional Japanese clothing. The name itself, "Mirai", which means "future" in Japanese, sums up the idea of a beauty in which tradition and contemporary vision coexist in a natural way.
Also very representative of the SICIS approach is the Vertex table, which expresses in an exemplary way the company's ability to transform glass into a material that seems to have always belonged to space. The base, in bronze glass, is worked and assembled to generate a structure that recalls the geological complexity of a crystal. The top, in earthy shades, is made of Vetrite and chromatically blends with the base, creating a material continuity rare in contemporary design.
At a time when the language of understatement dominates much of the market, SICIS reaffirms the value of presence. Not as a provocative gesture, but as a coherent expression of one's identity. With "Impossible to ignore", the brand brought a clear message to the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2026: in contemporary design, what remains is what knows how to be seen, and above all recognized.
