Audi Nuvolari debuts at Goodwood
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the most eagerly awaited events on the international motorsport calendar, will host the first public appearance of Audi Nuvolari, the new plug-in hybrid supercar from the brand with the four rings, from 9 to 12 July. An almost definitive example will tackle the famous 1.86-kilometre hillclimb that winds through the streets of the Goodwood House estate, residence of the Duke of Richmond, with a true motorsport legend at the wheel: Tom Kristensen, nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
"What is striking about the Audi Nuvolari is the extraordinary interplay of all the systems: from the new generation of quattro all-wheel drive to the plug-in hybrid powertrain, from active aerodynamics to the Formula 1-inspired braking system. Motorsport-derived technologies evolved for use on the road", said Kristensen, a nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Audi Nuvolari is not only the fastest and most powerful model ever produced by the Brand, but also marks the debut of the new design philosophy that will guide the future cars of the four rings. Made in just 499 units, the supercar will begin to be delivered to the first customers in the first half of 2027.
Auto Union Lucca: history is back on the move
Alongside the absolute novelty, Goodwood also offers a dip in the brand's past. Audi Tradition brings a selection of historic racing cars from AUDI AG to England, including Le Mans and rally protagonists, flanked by the legendary Silver Arrows Auto Union Type C and Type D.
Guest of honor, however, is Auto Union Lucca, the faithful replica of the streamliner that in 1935 conquered the record for the fastest road racing car in the world, reaching 326.975 km/h. Rebuilt by Audi Tradition and presented for the first time in May in the Tuscan city where the historic record took place, the car experienced its first dynamic appearance in front of the public at Goodwood.
On the road test front, visitors will also be able to drive the Audi RS 5 along the circuit, while the high-performance plug-in hybrid will be displayed in static mode alongside two classics from Audi's sporting repertoire: the RS2 Avant and RS 4 Avant.
