Ferrari 12Cylinder Manual: 830 hp and return to the most authentic driving
Ferrari presents the 12Cilindri Manuale, a special series limited to 1,499 units that reinterprets one of the most emotional elements in the history of the Prancing Horse in a contemporary key: the manual gearbox. At the heart of the project is the new Manuale By-Wire system, developed in-house in Maranello to create an even more direct relationship between driver and car.
The solution combines a gear lever with the traditional Ferrari gate and a by-wire clutch pedal with the DCT dual-clutch transmission. The commands given by the driver are managed electronically, allowing you to recreate gestures and sensations typical of manual driving while maintaining the advantages of the modern Ferrari transmission. The driver can then intervene directly on the lever and clutch or operate the vehicle in automatic mode.
The 830 hp naturally aspirated V12
The heart of the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale remains the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, capable of delivering 830 hp and reaching 9,500 rpm, one of the elements that most characterise the driving experience of the new special series.
The Manual By-Wire architecture has been developed precisely to increase driver involvement, bringing actions such as the use of the clutch and the physical selection of gears back to the center of the experience. The 12-cylinder Manual accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 340 km/h, thus maintaining performance close to that of the 12-cylinder from which it derives.
Ferrari tradition and contemporary technology
The goal is not simply to reproduce a transmission from the past, but to use electronics to recover a form of interaction between man and car that has become increasingly rare on modern super sports cars.
The famous Ferrari metal gate, the lever and the third pedal thus become an integral part of the on-board experience, while the traditional paddles behind the steering wheel disappear.
The special series also stands out for its aesthetic details and dedicated configurations, with extensive customisation options through the Ferrari Tailor Made programme, which combines materials, craftsmanship and specifications developed for each customer.
With the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manual, Maranello therefore returns to enhance the physical gesture of shifting on a V12, but using a completely new technology: a meeting between tradition and innovation designed for those who consider involvement behind the wheel an essential part of the Ferrari experience.
