Gulfstream Leader in Sustainability in Business Aviation
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.'s fleet of corporate, demonstration and support aircraft has surpassed the 3 million nautical mile mark using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blends, confirming the company's pioneering role in advancing the adoption of low-emission solutions in the business aviation industry.
At the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, Gulfstream used SAF blends for its G800, G700, G600 and G400, reaffirming its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of flight operations.
The crossing of the 3 million nautical mile threshold testifies to the continuity of Gulfstream's investment in the procurement and promotion of the use of sustainable fuels, a path that the company has been pursuing for years with perseverance and strategic vision. Gulfstream, in fact, is recognized as a leader in the field of sustainability for business aviation, with an approach that integrates research, technological partnerships and concrete actions aimed at the energy transition of the sector.
At its headquarters in Savannah, Georgia, Gulfstream maintains robust SAF availability, with a plan to increase fuel consumption by 50% year-over-year, a milestone that reaffirms its commitment to greater operational adoption of sustainable fuel.
The company also boasts historical records in the sector: it was the first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to fly with 100% pure SAF and the first manufacturer to obtain the four certifications of the "Sustainable Flight Department Accreditation" program of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) - in the categories of flight, operations, ground support and infrastructure.
In 2023, Gulfstream reached a momentous milestone by making the world's first transatlantic flight powered exclusively by pure SAF, which is composed of 100% hydrotreated esters and pure fatty acids (HEFAs) in both engines. In 2024, it also successfully completed ground-based emissions tests with sulphur-free SAF, confirming the fuel's environmental effectiveness also in terms of reducing local pollutants.
The next-generation Gulfstream family of aircraft continues to represent the brand's technological and engineering excellence: from the super-midsize Gulfstream G300 to the class-leading G400, to the award-winning G500 and G600, the G700 with ultra-large cabin and the G800, the ultra-long-haul aircraft that symbolizes efficiency, comfort and innovation.
The all-new mid-size Gulfstream G300 will join its next-generation fleet, replace the Gulfstream G280 and feature Gulfstream's signature oval panoramic windows, as well as an all-new Harmony Flight Deck, which includes next-generation avionics to improve safety and operational efficiency. With the longest cabin in its class and two living areas, the G300 can accommodate up to 10 passengers. The G300 midsize jet is the latest model to join Gulfstream's innovative next-generation fleet.
