Cessna Citation Ascend: A New Private Flight Experience
The Cessna Citation Ascend marks its entry into service with the first delivery to a private customer, a key step that confirms the operational debut of the new midsize business jet. Unveiled in 2023 and certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in November 2025, the Ascend represents the premium evolution of the Citation family, with a design designed for customers seeking uncompromising comfort, technology and productivity.
Designed and built by Textron Aviation, the Citation Ascend introduces a completely new cockpit, improved performance and a flat-floor passenger cabin, a distinctive element in the midsize segment. This is part of a success story: since 2000, more than 1,000 Citation 560XL series have been delivered, praised for their balance between range, reliability and operational efficiency.
On-board technology at the service of the pilot
The cockpit is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, which integrates autothrottle, three large 14-inch touch displays, dual flight management system and synthetic vision for greater situational awareness. The package is completed by advanced weather detection systems, satellite connectivity for voice and data and, on request, CPDLC communications for more direct routes between North America and Europe. The result is a significant reduction in workload and even more precise control at every stage of the flight.
A luxurious environment designed for productivity
For passengers, the Ascend offers a large and quiet cabin, designed for up to 12 occupants, with an acoustic treatment that returns a noise level comparable to that of a car on the highway. The new windows, which are about 15% larger, increase brightness and a sense of space, while the customisable interior allows the environment to be shaped according to the owner's lifestyle. Lighting, temperature, curtains and entertainment are manageable wirelessly, transforming the jet cabin into an office or a private living room.
Connectivity comes standard with Wi-Fi Gogo US Avance L3 Max, with upgrade options to US Avance L5 or Gogo Galileo HDX, so you can stay online even on the most demanding routes.
Performance and autonomy
The Citation Ascend is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines, which provide greater fuel efficiency and more thrust. It reaches a top speed of 441 knots (ktas) and a range of 1,940 nautical miles (3,593 km) with four passengers, maintaining an excellent balance between performance and operating costs. The unmanned Honeywell RE100 [XL] APU ensures quieter and more efficient ground operations.
Tailored global support
For owners, Textron Aviation complements the aircraft with a premium service system: a global network with 20 direct service centers, 21 authorized centers, over 80 mobile units, and a 24/7 AOG service. Service intervals, which are among the most competitive in the industry (18 months or 800 hours), and extended avionics, engine and interior warranties further enhance the value of your investment.
