The new Milano Linate Prime Terminal
SEA Milan Airports, operator of the airports of Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Milan Linate (LIN), together with the company of the Group SEA Prime – which with the Milano Prime brand is the first Italian operator in the Business & General Aviation sector – has inaugurated the new wing of the Milano Linate Prime Terminal (LIML), introducing new areas dedicated to passenger reception and expanding aircraft parking areas.
The intervention, which began in December 2024, was designed to offer more functional and comfortable spaces for passengers and crew, with separate flows and a higher level of privacy.
The expansion is part of SEA Prime's development and growth strategy, which in 2025 managed 35.9 thousand business aviation movements, recording growth of +7% at Milan Linate Prime compared to 2024, among the highest in Europe.
In the first months of 2026, also thanks to the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics effect, traffic further accelerated the growth trend, marking +13.5% compared to 2025, with peaks of more than 130 daily movements.
New lounges and architecture inspired by Milan
The new wing includes nine lounges with glass walls, overlooking both the aircraft apron and the landside, for a total area of 2,000 square meters. The spaces have been assigned to Italian and international business aviation operators, who will customize them according to their architectural and service standards.
The project also included the restyling of existing infrastructure, with the creation of new environments and the expansion of the entrance compasses to improve accessibility. The air-side and land-side façades have been completely renovated and enriched in the upper part by undulating metal surfaces, designed to increase brightness and integrate harmoniously with the context. The central hall is enhanced by a large skylight and a custom-made polygonal concierge desk to welcome guests; The floors in "ceppo di grè" recall distinctive elements of Milanese architecture.
Sustainability and regeneration
From an environmental point of view, the new wing area has been developed with a sustainability-oriented approach. The intervention regenerated existing structures (including the span of an aircraft shelter hangar) integrating them with energy-efficient systems, photovoltaic panels, low-impact air conditioning and an air management system that monitors CO₂ levels to optimize turnover. In addition, the cutting-edge, essential and elegant design has optimized the LED lighting and also the acoustic comfort.
The project, entirely financed by the SEA Group, was carried out by the RTI led by Gencantieri and CEFLA Società Cooperativa, based on a project by the SAB, CREW and Incision architecture studios.
