Jet Aviation Opens New Miami-Opa FBO Locka

Jet Aviation has commenced full operations of its new FBO at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, strengthening its presence in one of the main business aviation gateways between the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. The facility, officially opened on July 23, 2026, occupies an area of 27 acres and is designed to accommodate large-cabin and ultra-long-range business jets as well.

Activities had begun in November 2025 through a temporary terminal. The new complex now features an 8,500-square-foot FBO terminal, approximately 790 square meters, and 40,000 square feet of new hangars, equal to approximately 3,700 square meters. The ramp spans 540,000 square feet and is connected to the airport system through two taxiways.

Premium services for passengers and crew

The terminal offers architecture inspired by the style of Miami, with open space spaces and large windows directly overlooking the ramp and the runway.

Dedicated lounges, office space and a private meeting room are available to passengers and crew, while direct access to the ramp through a reserved entrance makes the transfer to and from the aircraft smoother.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection service is expected to open directly at the FBO in the third quarter of 2026, with the aim of further simplifying procedures for passengers on international flights.

SAF and more sustainable infrastructure

The new base offers refueling of Jet-A, 100LL and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The structure is also built according to LEED standards and integrates solar panels, systems for reducing water consumption, LED lighting and charging points for electric vehicles.

Miami increasingly strategic for business aviation

Miami-Opa Locka represents the twelfth FBO Jet Aviation in the United States. The group considers Miami one of the five busiest markets in the region for business aviation and a strategic point for connections between North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and other international destinations.

Jet Aviation has had a presence in South Florida since 1985, the year the Palm Beach FBO opened. Today it operates about 30 FBOs worldwide, within a total network of 50 locations also dedicated to aircraft management, charter, aircraft sales, maintenance and completions.

With the new Miami FBO-Opa Locka, Jet Aviation is expanding its offering in one of the most important markets for international private aviation, focusing on premium services, increased capacity for large business jets and faster procedures for international travellers.
