New sustainability milestone for Trieste Airport
Trieste Airport has obtained level 4 – Transformation of the Airport Carbon Accreditation, ACI Europe's international program dedicated to the measurement and progressive reduction of CO₂ emissions in airports.
The recognition places the Friuli Venezia Giulia airport among the first Italian airports to have reached this advanced stage of the certification process. Level 4 does not only consider emissions directly controlled by the operator, but also involves airlines, operators, suppliers and other actors active within the airport system.
The goal is to develop a shared decarbonization strategy, based on measuring emissions, their progressive reduction and the adoption of solutions capable of making the entire infrastructure more efficient and sustainable. The goal was also achieved with the support of To70 Italia, a company specializing in aeronautical and environmental consultancy, which supported Trieste Airport during the accreditation process.
New investments for efficiency and sustainable mobility
The investment programme will continue with interventions aimed at increasing energy efficiency, further reducing the environmental impact of airport activities and promoting progressive decarbonisation. Innovative technologies and initiatives dedicated to sustainable mobility and more responsible management of resources are also planned.
For passengers, this path can translate over time into a more efficient, modern and attentive airport to the quality of the travel experience, thanks to services, infrastructures and mobility solutions developed with a lower environmental impact.
