ITA Airways launches Green Fare

The new Economy, Premium Economy and Business Green fares allow passengers to support certified climate projects and the adoption of sustainable SAF fuels on future flights

ITA Airways introduces the new Green Fare, fares dedicated to passengers who wish to contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions associated with travel. Available in Economy Green, Premium Economy Green and Business Green, the new options can be purchased on domestic, European and selected intercontinental destinations operated by the company.

With Green Fares, a portion of the fare is allocated to certified environmental protection projects and to support the adoption of sustainable SAF aviation fuels on future flights. On domestic and European routes, the expected distribution is 80% in favour of climate projects and 20% for SAF. On many intercontinental routes, however, 90% is destined for climate projects and 10% for sustainable fuels. Fares are not available on flights to and from Japan, the United States and Canada.

In addition to the environmental component, the new fares offer benefits for travellers, including extra Miles and Points in the Miles&More programme, greater flexibility in booking changes and the benefits already included in the Economy or Business Saver fares.

The launch of the Green Fare is part of ITA Airways' sustainability path, which aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 through fleet renewal, increasing use of SAF and improving operational efficiency.
