A concrete commitment to global sustainability: ITA Airways has announced its adherence to the United Nations Global Compact, the international initiative that promotes the adoption of sustainable and responsible policies by companies around the world. The Global Compact was launched with the aim of promoting a more sustainable and inclusive global economy. Participants voluntarily commit to align their activities and strategies with the Ten Internationally Recognized Principles, which cover:
- human rights
- Working standards
- Environment
- Fight against corruption
These principles underpin support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are fundamental to ensuring a fairer and more sustainable future.
ITA Airways: sustainability as a strategic choice

The Global Compact: a multi-stakeholder initiative
The UN Global Compact is an open and inclusive initiative, involving a wide range of actors: businesses, academic organisations, trade unions and NGOs. With this membership, ITA Airways joins an international network of companies committed to achieving a sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of global cooperation to address social and environmental challenges. This milestone represents not only a formal commitment, but also a concrete path to integrate the values of sustainability into business processes, contributing to a fairer, more responsible economy that is attentive to the needs of the planet and the new generations.
