Oryx hotels at Doha Airport aim for 100% sustainability

Composting food waste and reducing more than 11 tons of plastic: Hamad International Airport accelerates green initiatives

Inside Doha's Hamad International Airport, the Oryx Airport Hotel and the Oryx Garden Hotel reinforce their commitment to the environment with new sustainable practices. The hotels, managed by Dhiafatina Hotels, have introduced a composting system that transforms food waste into organic fertilizer reused in the green areas of the airport, thus creating a zero-impact virtuous cycle.

Thanks to the replacement of single-use materials, hotels have also avoided the production of about 8.2 tons of plastic from water bottles and 3.3 tons from dental kits and keycards, for a total of more than 11 tons saved.

These actions are part of the Qatar National Vision 2030, confirming Hamad International Airport (DOH) as one of the most innovative airports in the world and a benchmark in sustainable airport management.
