Munich Airport has inaugurated the new depot for electric buses

With 37 charging stations already active and more on the way, the German airport accelerates the transition to zero-emission airport mobility

Munich Airport has inaugurated a new depot dedicated to electric buses for passenger transport, built in collaboration with its subsidiary AeroGround. The facility, located in the southern area of the airport, is already equipped with 37 charging stations, to which another 13 will be added by the end of the summer. A third phase, scheduled for the next two years, will bring an additional 22 charging points and photovoltaic shelters.

The project, supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport with 23.8 million euros as part of the NextGenerationEU program, involves the electrification of 72 airport buses. "A strong signal of progressive and concrete mobility", underlined Ulrich Lange, Parliamentary Undersecretary of State.

Munich Airport thus confirms its commitment to becoming one of the most advanced European airports in sustainable mobility, green innovation and environmental sustainability.
