Autogrill inaugurates Avolta NEXT F&B Hub Milan
A new space dedicated to startups to revolutionize the customer experience, optimize operations and promote sustainability in the Food & Beverage and travel retail sector
Autogrill has inaugurated the Avolta NEXT F&B Hub Milano at its headquarters on the outskirts of the city. This new space is dedicated to innovation and sustainability in the Food & Beverage and travel retail sector.
The hub provides startups with a collaborative environment focused on three key areas: customer experience, operations and employee experience, and sustainability. The selected startups will benefit from direct funding, acceleration programs, dedicated mentorship and the opportunity to reach millions of travelers globally.
Inspired by the success of the initiative at Fiumicino Airport in collaboration with ADR and Mundys, the Avolta NEXT F&B Hub aims to share experiences and expertise within the Autogrill ecosystem.
The first Call for Ideas, launched in December 2023, received over 100 applications from four continents. Five startups have been selected to develop innovative solutions aimed at improving the in-store experience, making it more sustainable and in line with consumer expectations.
Among the projects in development:
- Hoooly! by Ganiga Innovation: a smart bin that uses artificial intelligence to automatically separate waste and provide data to improve management and sustainability.
- Plastiz: focused on recycling plastic waste to create aesthetic and functional surfaces.
- Loquis: an app available in seven languages that helps travelers discover the local area and culture in a more informed way.
The next Call 4 Start-up is scheduled for 2025, with the aim of involving additional innovative startups ready to redesign the future of the sector.
