Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2024
The challenge starts again on the renovated track of the Autodromo di Monza
The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is ready to welcome, after almost seven months of intense renovation work, the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2024, scheduled for Sunday 1 September at 3 pm. This is the sixteenth round out of 24 of the 2024 World Championship, the 74th race on this historic circuit since 1950, the year the Formula 1 World Championship was established, and the 95th overall.

The Monza track has a completely new look: the complete resurfacing with a new flexible pavement, designed to improve performance in terms of speed and endurance, and the widening of the track of the First Variant on the recommendation of the FIA, to allow the passage of two cars side by side, are just some of the improvements made. The curbs have been replaced and updated according to the regulations of the Federation, and the water management system has been strengthened to cope with the increasingly frequent extreme weather events.

The intervention also involved improving access for the public, with the construction of new underpasses and pedestrian paths to separate pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows, thus offering a safer and more comfortable experience to spectators. To facilitate the flow of people, two new pedestrian walkways have been installed, one at the height of the First Variant and the other near the Variante Ascari.

The race weekend is enriched by the presence of Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup, with a schedule that includes free practice and qualifying sessions starting from Friday 30 August. The main race is held over 53 laps of the 5,793-meter circuit. The public can follow every moment of the action thanks to the 31 giant screens distributed along the track, with 21 refreshment points and numerous dedicated areas to ensure an unforgettable experience.

For fans, the Fan Zone opens on Thursday 29 August, with free access from 1 pm to 7 pm, and is active for ticket holders until Sunday. The detailed program of the event, entertainment activities and all safety instructions are available on the Monza Circuit app, which can be downloaded from digital stores.
At the same time as the opening of the Fan Zone to the public, the distribution of SPF50 sunscreen began through 10 dispensers located within the circuit that work autonomously thanks to a built-in solar panel. The cream is dispensed automatically and hygienically. This is an initiative carried out by Autodromo Nazionale Monza in collaboration with LILT, the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer.
The first day of the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix also saw the opening of the 2024 Fuori GP of the Municipalities of Monza, Biassono and Vedano al Lambro with numerous attractions for young and old fans and lots of music.
